چکیده

Abstract With the development of industrialization, emission volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to atmosphere causes serious environmental problems and treatment VOCs needs consume a lot energy. Moreover, indoor are seriously harmful human health. Thus, there is an urgent requirement for technologies. Catalytic degradation VOCs, as low energy consumption, high efficiency, easy achieve manner, has been widely studied in related fields. As kind transition metal catalyst, manganese-based catalysts have attracted attention catalytic because their unique advantages including cost, excellent stability. This paper reviews state-of-the-art progress degradation. We introduce thermocatalytic, photocatalytic photo-thermocatalytic on this paper. The optimization by means structural design, decorating modification defect engineering discussed. Graphical

Removal of Indoor Volatile Organic Compounds

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde are ubiquitous in indoor environment. 16 Inhalation of VOCs can cause irritations, difficulty breathing, and nausea, and damage the central 17 nervous system as well as other organs. Formaldehyde is even a carcinogen. Removal of VOCs and 18 formaldehyde is thus critical to control indoor air quality (IAQ). Photocatalytic oxidation has been 19 d...

Screening Indoor Plants for Volatile Organic Pollutant Removal Efficiency

Twenty-eight ornamental species commonly used for interior plantscapes were screened for their ability to remove five volatile indoor pollutants: aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene and toluene), aliphatic hydrocarbon (octane), halogenated hydrocarbon [trichloroethylene (TCE)], and terpene (a-pinene). Individual plants were placed in 10.5-L gas-tight glass jars and exposed to ’10 ppm (31.9, 53.7, 37...

Indoor Volatile Organic Compounds and Chemical Sensitivity Reactions

Studies of unexplained symptoms observed in chemically sensitive subjects have increased the awareness of the relationship between neurological and immunological diseases due to exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs). However, there is no direct evidence that links exposure to low doses of VOCs and neurological and immunological dysfunction. We review animal model data to clarify the rol...

Nonvolatile, semivolatile, or volatile: redefining volatile for volatile organic compounds.

UNLABELLED Although widely used in air quality regulatory frameworks, the term "volatile organic compound" (VOC) is poorly defined. Numerous standardized tests are currently used in regulations to determine VOC content (and thus volatility), but in many cases the tests do not agree with each other, nor do they always accurately represent actual evaporation rates under ambient conditions. The pa...

Building-Related Symptoms among Office Employees Associated with Indoor Carbon Dioxide and Total Volatile Organic Compounds

This study investigated whether sick building syndrome (SBS) complaints among office workers were associated with the indoor air quality. With informed consent, 417 employees in 87 office rooms of eight high-rise buildings completed a self-reported questionnaire for symptoms experienced at work during the past month. Carbon dioxide (CO2), temperature, humidity and total volatile organic compoun...
